I love my kids, I really do, but I also love my time away from them. Time to just be me. Time to think, be still, and have no one yelling my name or smearing my pants with dirty fingers. Time for adventure. Yes, we’re huge advocates of taking kids with you on adventures, but every now and then leave them behind! What better way to do that than with your spouse! Mine is my favorite adventure partner, and something about being outside together (and alone) does wonders for our relationship and our individual sanity. So, if you’re like us and have a hard time thinking of a fun outside date on the spur of the moment, here are 50 ideas to get you started!
ANYTIME
- Go for a hike
- Have a picnic
- Fly a kite
- Go stargazing (details here)
- Walk through a park holding hands
- Make marshmallow guns and have a fight
- Go on a photo scavenger hunt
- Have a fire
- Go for a bike ride
- Feed birds at the park
