How did we already get to Day 10 of our series?  Well, let me tell you, this has been a much anticipated day for both of us.  You see, today we both got a product that we’ve had our eyes on for quite some time.  Yep, Bogs sent Andrew and I both a pair of boots to test out.  HAPPY DAY!

Okay, so snow boots are something I never think about until it starts snowing.  Then I dread that I’m going to have to throw on my hiking shoes and then rig up my gaitors over them and know I’m looking like a goof.  It’s a lengthy process.  YUCK!  This year, I had my sights set on some new boots and at one glance, you might be able to tell why Bogs was topping my list:

SO CUTE.  Then I learned more.  These boots are super tough.  Like rated to keep you warm to -40 degrees tough!  It was pretty much like Christmas came early when I got these in the mail.  I got the Classic High Tuscany in purple and even got 5 compliments on them within the first hour of wearing them.

Luckily, we had a great snowstorm yesterday and Mason and Chloe were happy to spend a lot of the day outside letting me “test” my boots.  Well, I’m pleased to report that I’m thrilled with these boots.  They’re super comfortable, warm, waterproof (yes, I tested them in the overflowing gutters), and I can’t help but grinning every time I look down at my feet.  Truly.  Now I wasn’t sure what I would think of the slip on feature without laces to cinch them down.  Well, that may be my favorite part right now.  You see, as a mom, I’m constantly running in and out.  It’s a lifesaver to have shoes you can just throw on and off easily.  Chloe’s glove got wet in the gutters.  Run inside, take boots off, get new gloves, put boots back on, go outside, and it didn’t really take any more time than if I just left my shoes on.  This tells you how easy they are to get on and off (and what crazy mad skills I have at getting shoes on).  The handles are priceless because i just grab them and the boot slides on easily.  Despite that, they stay put once they’re on because the neoprene-like top stretches to get them on, but stays tight when you’re wearing them.  Another reason that I love them is that they’re super tall.  I could actually go out and play with the kids in the snow with just my jeans on and not have wet calves.  Nope, the snow is staying out of these beauties.  Here’s a glimpse at the pair I got…

Classic Hi Tuscany (52473-531 9 M)

Okay, so I’m a whimp when it comes to cold (hey, you can always just put more clothes on) so warm boots were top priority when looking into new boots.  These totally fit the bill, plus a little.  They aren’t so obnoxiously warm that they make your feet sweaty.  I really didn’t notice much of a difference out tromping around in the snow for hours, than I did wearing them on a 60 degree day.  Can you tell I’m crazy about these?  Here’s the rundown

Pros:
–  Warmth rated down to -40 degrees
–  Waterproof
–  Super stylish
–  High enough to keep most snow out
–  Easy on and off
–  Convenient handles
–  Don’t make you sweaty on a warm day

Cons:
–  They only come in whole sizes
–  Not super tight fitting, so wouldn’t work as well for high activity

I’m pretty sure I’m gonna be sporting, and loving, these boots for years to come.

Andrew was given a pair from Bogs as well, the Jamison and here is his review.

When I first tried the bogs shoes out, the first thing that I notices was that they were unlike almost any other shoe that I had ever tried. They remind me of putting on a bootie for scuba diving or whitewater rafting.   The boots fit tight and snug, conforming to every aspect of your foot. The feel is different, but crazy comfortable.  For me, the tall boots felt good down around my foot, but I didn’t like the feel of the cuff mid way up my leg as I walked.  So I tried the Jamison. Again, it was unlike any shoe I had ever tried.  The soles are tough, the outside of the boot is made of rubber and then your foot slips down into the Neo-Tech liner.  You can see your foot moving through the liner and honestly, this flexibility gives it the comfort.  I enjoy them comfortably inside all day and walk around outside in the snow, they keep me warm and dry.

I wear a 9 1/2 usually, so the 9 was too tight and the 10 just a tad big, but wearing a warmer sock, it fits great.  The instant comfort and conforming to your foot is the thing that I keep coming back to. They are warm in the snow, but also the most comfortable boot that I’ve ever had.  I suggest going to a store and trying on a pair so you can feel the difference for yourself. I already want a pair of their slip-ons.
