As you are out and about looking for some great stocking stuffers for your friends and family, we wanted to help you come up with a few overlooked items that add a little fun and a little adventure to your stocking rather than 500 peanuts.
For kids, check out these four sweet and inexpensive items from Coghlan’s (keep reading to the bottom for a chance to WIN each of these).
This is a fun and simple way to let your kids be just like dad or mom when you are out camping. You can imagine the fun with your little one running around after dark with the ability to see and you not having to be there right by them every second. Needless to say, for the entertainment factor alone, it’s worth you taking a good look, especially around $8 here. Your kids will think a headlamp is one of the coolest things that they’ve ever seen!
We saw these at the OR show a year or two ago and knew that our kids would love them. They’ve been on many adventures with us since we have definitely had good use out of them. No frills, simple design is great, especially when it is the choice between your kid dropping your super expensive binos or this fun pair. Available for around $10.
A great, easy item to clip on their backpack and let them loose. Yes, you will have to help them get up to speed on how it works, like why they would use a compass ( I mean, don’t we all just use our GPS?) But they’ll feel more confident, prepared and ready to hit the trail when you’ve given them a sweet toy to assist in their adventures and they may even have the chance to go professional with the whistle, or drive you insane trying. It runs around $5 here.
What kid’s life wouldn’t be complete without a net to catch not only butterflies, but also anything else they can find. Our nets go on a majority of trips with us and they catch everything from fish to grasshoppers, frogs to snails, lizards to….yep even butterflies. Encourage them to get out and see what they can find. For about $8 here.
Then for the active adults on your list, this is a quick and easy, on-the-go gift.
You thought that wet wipes were for you baby’s butt or to do a quick clean, well here’s a whole new concept. Action Wipes comes in individual packets and are quick and easy to throw into your pocket, jacket or backpack. the whole point is that you get two things. First off a quick way to clean off, if and when you get dirty, but also they are tough enough that you don’t have to use once and throw away. They are meant to just be wiped and thrown away, since they are stronger, so you can use them multiple times…just add water. As they say, No Shower, No Problem. A single packet for around $1.50 or a whole pack of them here for $25. We tried them out at the Outdoor Retailer show this summer and they were a lifesaver after a long, hot, dusty day!
We’re giving away each one of these stocking stuffers, so keep going down for a chance to win!!
