Being a parent is tough work – there’s just no way around it!  Reward your favorite adventurous parent with a little something that says “Thanks” this year and let’s them get out and have a little fun of their own!

ENO DoubleNest Hammock

ENO’s DoubleNest Hammock gives every parent exactly what they need.  Relaxation, comfort and a much-needed change of pace.  We spent lots of time in ours this summer camping, backpacking, and just relaxing everywhere we went (yes, they are super easy to just take with you and set up almost anywhere).  The only problem is that your kids might like it so much they try to steal it, so just buy two.  $70 (not including the straps which are TOTALLY worth the extra $20).

Osprey Mira Women’s Backpack

My new favorite pack that gets toted all around with me.  It’s a great sized pack that is roomy without being enormous, but still can carry everything that an adventurous Mom needs for a day out!  Top that off with the best hydration system I’ve used (simple, big capacity, and magnetic no-spill closure) and this is one fantastic pack.  Check out our full review here.  Cost $159

Chacos

Our footwear of choice for everything non-snow related.  Not only are these sandals incredibly comfortable and adjustable, but they really do perform amazingly well in almost any condition.  Get them for an amazing deal at Sierra Trading Post starting at $64 ( and if you get their emails you can almost always get an extra 30%+ off of that price).  If your outdoor loving friend already has some Chacos that need to be spruced up, check out our post on how to Reweb Your Own Chacos for Under $5!

A Babysitter

I know we’re all about “bringing the kids”, but one thing that every adventurous parent needs is a chance to not bring them.  Yes, a chance to really push their limits, explore and dig deep and rediscover the adventurer that they were before kids.  Best of all, it doesn’t cost a thing – just offer to stay with their kids for the day – they will be more grateful than you could ever imagine!

Double Sleeping Bag

It takes no stretch of the imagination to know that camping is much more fun when you’re sharing a sleeping bag with your other half.  We checked out this awesome double bag by Eureka at the Outdoor Retail show this summer and were impressed not only with it’s construction, but the fact that it only cost $125 (a steal for a double bag).

To really kick the Christmas season off right, the folks at ENO are giving away a DoubleNest Hammock to one of our lucky readers.
